We’re All Mad Here, is the work of Gráinne O’Carroll, an emerging artist whose experience spans the realms of visual art, physical theatre, gymnastics, comedy, costume, installation and video. She started the project in 2016 while graduating from the National College of Art and Design, Dublin, and since has been developing it for galleries, film festivals and now, the Dublin Fringe Festival! The work explores darkness, light and themes of destruction, desire, despair, and delight.

Upon graduating from NCAD she was awarded the Mainie Jellet Graduate Award which steered her course of studies to Barcelona where she practiced physical theatre and corporeal mime with MOVEO. Coming from a gymnastics background Grainne has always been inspired by the world of physical mobility, finding poetry within movement that cant be described with words. “The body knows things about which the mind is ignorant” (Jacques Lecoq)

The music embraces these themes and is centered around the melodic piano ideas vandalised by bursts of rhythm violence.
